You will recall that in the fairy tale The Three Little Pigs the pigs built three houses for themselves for protection against the Big Bad Wolf.One little pig built his house of straw.The second little pig built his house of wood.The third little pig built his house of brick.When the Big Bad Wolf came along,he\u201chuffed and he puffed\u201dand blew down the houses that were built of straw and wood,but he could not move the house built of brick.<\/p>\n

There is a song still sung in Sunday school classes:\u201cThe wise man built his house upon the rock\u2026\u201dThe wise man does build his house upon the rock-the Lord Jesus Christ-for nothing built of or on any other substance will stand the test of time.<\/p>\n

In big cities I often see wrecking balls destroying old structures to make way for new ones.Some of these\u201cold structures\u201din America are frequently less than a hundred years old.In Europe,buildings several centuries old are common.But even these buildings can be destroyed,by a natural disaster if not by man.<\/p>\n

Only what is built on the solid foundation of Christ will last.As the poem says,\u201cOnly one life,\u2018twill soon be past.Only what\u2019s done for Christ shall last.\u201d<\/p>\n
