April 3 – Good Plan<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

But it was the Lord\u2019s good plan to crush him\u00a0and cause him grief.\u00a0Yet when his life is made an offering for sin, he will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life, and the Lord\u2019s good plan will prosper in his hands.<\/p>\n

Isaiah 53:10<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

One of the most startling lines in the Bible is found in Isaiah 53:10. It says that everything that happened to God\u2019s \u201cSuffering Servant\u201d\u2014all the crushing and grieving, the accusations and execution, the carrying of humanity\u2019s sin and disdain\u2014was all a part of the Lord\u2019s \u201cgood plan\u201d for his Son. How is someone\u2014someone innocent, I might add\u2014being betrayed, arrested, falsely accused, tortured, and executed a \u201cgood plan\u201d? That certainly sounds like a very bad idea, right?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The \u201cgood\u201d in the plan, however, is the key. God created everything \u201cgood,\u201d but because death was brought to creation through sin, Jesus took it all upon himself through the cross so that he could offer forgiveness and new life. In other words, God\u2019s rescue blueprint called for the terrible things that happened to Jesus in order to restore \u201cgood\u201d to this earth. As a result of what Jesus did, the day of crucifixion became known as \u201cGood Friday,\u201d and the day of resurrection would prove victory over death.<\/p>\n
