When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.<\/p>\n

We often can\u2019t help ourselves. We see something tempting and we can\u2019t resist it. We hunger for something and we must consume it. Our diagnosis is this: The more we gain, the less we feel like we actually have. This sickness only fuels our thirst for even more. It is a perpetually spiraling cycle: craving and conquest and loss, craving and conquest and loss, craving and conquest and loss. When we live loopy like this, our emptiness is emphasized.<\/p>\n

The pursuit of our own happiness leaves us disappointed in our own futility. \u201cNo matter how much we see, we are never satisfied,\u201d Solomon reminds us (Ecclesiastes 1:8). The fleeting pleasures we have sought cannot satisfy our deep thirst for wholeness. But Jesus can help us. He is able to give us what we cannot grasp by our own power and strength. Christ alone can\u00a0give us the fulfillment we were created to have.<\/p>\n
