Do you smell something?\u201d We are a very distracted people. We struggle to listen without being flooded by all kinds of other stimulation that stirs all of our other senses. Our challenge today is to be radically different than the preoccupied culture around us.<\/p>\n

Listen carefully. Don\u2019t speak quickly. Listen quickly. Don\u2019t get angry quickly. This is wise advice in a world that can be just the opposite: flare up the temper, vomit the verbal output, and, sorry, what were you saying? While hotheaded and loose-mouthed reactions can be signs of uncaring attitudes, the skill of listening to others shows a heart that cares for people. Listening<\/p>\n

to someone shows a person they are valued, important, and worth the time.<\/p>\n

This could simply be life changing.<\/p>\n
