One of the greatest things about following Jesus is the difference he makes in your life. And one of the most difficult things about following Jesus is the difference he makes in your life. Jesus gives freedom and he urges restraint. Jesus gives fulfillment and he asks you to give up everything. Jesus gives you a high calling and he asks you to serve others.<\/p>\n

This tugging in two opposite directions can be extreme at times, especially for those whose lives were dramatically transformed by Jesus. Some old friends or family might have difficulty understanding why you won\u2019t join them in some of your self-serving past activities. Your task, in the face of frustrated friends, is simply to listen to Jesus. He will help restore your spirit. Your calm focus and confident assurance in Jesus will keep you from flinching.<\/p>\n
