THE CHRISTIAN\u2019S MINDEST<\/p>\n

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. Philippians 2:5<\/i><\/em><\/p>\n

We Christians are not to be conformed to this world mentally. The world by its advertisements, its conversation, and its philosophy is engaged in a gigantic brainwashing task. Not always consciously but sometimes unconsciously, the Christian is beset by secular and worldly propaganda.<\/p>\n

Ads which proclaim that\u201cthe man of distinction\u201dprefers a certain brand of whisky, imply that abstainers are not people of distinction.<\/p>\n

Tobacco ads loudly proclaiming that\u201cthinking men\u201dprefer a certain filter, imply that only fools would reject their brand.<\/p>\n

Much entertainment, even on Sunday, is slanted to those who feed on violence, sex, and lawlessness. It would seem that some diabolic mastermind is running the affairs of this world and that his chief objective is to brainwash Christians and get them to conform to this world.<\/p>\n

The world\u2019s sewage system threatens to contaminate the stream of Christian thought. Satan will contest every hour you spend in Bible reading or prayer.<\/p>\n

However, above the din we can hear the voice of Scripture:\u201cLet this mind be in you. Which was also in Christ Jesus\u201d (Philippians 2:5), and\u201cBe ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good,and acceptable,and perfect, will of God\u201d (Romans 12:2).<\/p>\n

We Christians are not even to be conformed to the world\u2019s anxieties.<\/p>\n

Many Christians are wringing their hands and saying,\u201cWhat\u2019s the world coming to?\u201d<\/p>\n

The Bible has already told us that\u201cthe world and the lust thereof\u201dare going to pass away. We have already been told in Scripture that the world is coming to a cataclysmic judgment.<\/p>\n

We Christians are to be lights in the midst of darkness, and our lives should exemplify relaxation, peace, and joy in the midst of frustration, confusion, and despair.<\/p>\n

Time yourself the next time you read the Bible and pray. Compare this amount of time to that you spend, say, watching television.Is God getting His share of your time and attention?<\/p>\n
