DEALING WITH DEATH<\/p>\n

For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come. Hebrews 13:14, NIV<\/i><\/em><\/p>\n

Death will ultimately be abolished. The power of death has been broken and death\u2019s fear has been removed. Now we can say with the psalmist, \u201cYea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil:for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me\u201d(Psalm 23:4).<\/p>\n

Paul looked forward to death with great anticipation as a result of the resurrection of Christ. He said, \u201cFor to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain\u201d(Philippians 1:21). As Velma Barfield on Death Row in North Carolina said:\u201c I love Him so much I can hardly wait to see Him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Without the resurrection of Christ there could be no hope for the future. The Bible promises that someday we are going to stand face to face with the resurrected Christ, and we are going to have bodies like His own body.<\/p>\n
