为我而死

惟有基督在我们还作罪人的时候为我们死，神的爱就在此向我们显明了。

——罗5:8

当站在基督的十字架旁，我们看到神的爱充满荣耀。保罗写信给罗马信徒：“虽然我们无力自救……，基督为罪人死。”在我们的经历中，一个人为另一个人死是少有的，即使后者是个义人。然而神奇妙的爱就在此显明了“惟有基督在我们还作罪人的时候为我们死”。

一位年轻出色的社会领袖来拜访我和我妻子，她在一次布道中归向了基督，回转后的她发生很大变化。她现在可以背诵很多圣经章节，是一个属神的人，以致于我们听她令人感动的见证长达两个小时，她不止一次地说：“我简直不敢相信神会饶恕我这样一个充满罪恶的人。我真的无法理解神的爱。”

今日祷告

主啊，虽然我们无法理解祢十字架上的爱，但我们仍然感谢赞美祢，祢是我们的救主！祷告奉耶稣的名，阿们。

He Dies for Us

But God commendeth his love toward us,in that,while we were yet sinners,Christ died for us.
—Romans 5:8

As we stand at the cross of Christ we see a glorious exhibition of God’s love.Paul wrote to the Christians in Rome,“While we were powerless to help ourselves……Christ died for sinful men.”In human experience,it is a rare thing for one man to give his life for another,even if the latter be a good man,though there have been a few who have had the courage to do it.Yet the proof of God’s amazing love is this:that it was“while we were sinners Christ died for us.”

A beautiful young society leader came to visit my wife and me.She had been converted to Christ in one of our Crusades,and she was absolutely radiant in her transformation.Already she had learned scores of Scripture verses by heart and was so full of Christ that we sat for two hours listening to her give her moving testimony.Over and over she said,“I cannot understand how God couldforgiveme.I have been such a wicked sinner.I just cannot understand the love of God.”

Prayer for the day：

It is beyond comprehension the love that took You to the cross for me.Humbly I praise and thank You,my Savior and my Lord.In Jesus’name,Amen.
