不可心怀二意

“你们亲近上帝，上帝就必亲近你们。有罪的人哪，要洁净你们的手！心怀二意的人哪，要清洁你们的心！”  雅各书 4:8

如果在情人节，丈夫买了一张心意卡片和一些玫瑰花送给妻子；如果他告诉他的妻子他很爱她，她是他的唯一，听上去很好，是吗？那么，如果同样是这个丈夫，在一年里大部分其它时间，却没有为妻子做过什么，只是在她生日或者什么特殊的节日做些努力，那会怎样？如果，他还期待妻子报之以始终如一的爱慕和祝福，会怎样？又如果，他时不时盯着别的女人看，或者花时间看色情片，或想象着跟另一个女人在一起，或暗地里放纵自己的私欲，那现在，他可就不那么好了，对吧？

现在换一下。如果有一个人，礼拜天去教堂总是把钱放在奉献箱里；如果他告诉上帝，他爱上帝，上帝是他的唯一，这样的人很好，是吧？但是，同样是这个人，在一年里的其它时间并没有为上帝做什么，只是在圣诞节或者报税季节这种特殊的时候做些努力，你觉得他怎么样？如果他还期待得到从上帝而来的爱与祝福呢？ 如果同样是这个人，眼目时常盯着其他的东西，或者花时间追求其他的欲望，想象着崇拜其它偶像，或者暗地里放纵私欲，那他就不那么好了，对吗？

今日祷告：

主耶稣，谢谢你创造我与你建立关系。求祢让我转眼不看那些毫无价值的东西。奉主耶稣基督的圣名，阿们！奉主耶稣基督的圣名，阿们！

February 12 – What If?

Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.

What if for Valentine’s Day a husband bought a card and some roses and gave them to his wife? What if he told his wife he loved her and that she was the only one for him? Nice, right? Well, what if that same husband didn’t do much else for his wife for most of the rest of the year? What if he only spent effort on his wife on occasions like her birthday or a special holiday? What if he expected constant adoration and blessing from his wife in return? And what if he looked at other women from time to time, or spent time with pornography, or imagined being with another woman, or acted upon those desires secretively? He’s not so nice now, right?

Now try this. What if on Sundays a person went to church and put some money in the offering plate? What if this person told God he or she loved him and that God was the only one for them? Nice, right? Well, what if that same person didn’t do much else for God most the rest of the year? What if he or she only spent effort on God on special occasions like Christmas or tax season? What if she expected constant adoration and blessing from God? What if that same person looked at other objects from time to time, or spent time with other desires, or imagined being with another god, or acted upon those desires secretively? Not so nice now, right?

Pray for the Day:

Lord Jesus, thank you for creating me to have relationship with you. Turn my eyes from worthless things. Amen.
