祂如此行

“耶稣知道父已将万有交在他手里，且知道自己是从上帝出来的，又要归到上帝那里去，就离席站起来，脱了衣服，拿一条手巾束腰，随后把水倒在盆里，就洗门徒的脚，并用自己所束的手巾擦干。”

约翰福音13:3-5

如果你拥有世上所有的权柄，你打算怎么用？你会让自己过得舒服一些，例如饿的时候让人送上一个墨西哥卷饼来，或者试图跟某个名人做朋友？圣经说，耶稣拥有世上所有的权柄，但是他没有用来为自己服务。事实上，就在他被出卖和被抓捕之前，就在他被鞭打和嘲弄之前，就在他的手脚被钉十字架之前，耶稣，一个世上最有权柄的人，做了一件你根本想不到的事情。门徒约翰，亲自见证描述了那一时刻：

“耶稣知道父已将万有交在他手里，且知道自己是从上帝出来的，又要归到上帝那里去，就离席站起来，脱了衣服，拿一条手巾束腰，随后把水倒在盆里，就洗门徒的脚，并用自己所束的手巾擦干。”（约翰福音13:3-5）

今日祷告：

亲爱的耶稣，我何等感谢，是祢，拥有一切权柄，而不是别人。谢谢祢服事了我，实际上，原本应该是我来服事祢。奉主耶稣基督的圣名，阿们！

Jesus knew that the Father had given him authority over everything and that he had come from God and would return to God.So he got up from the table,took off his robe,wrapped a towel around his waist,and poured water into a basin.Then he began to wash the disciples’feet,drying

them with the towel he had around him.

JOH N 1 3:3–5

If you had all the power in the world,what would you do with it?Would you make life comfortable for yourself,hire people to bring you a burrito whenever you felt hungry,or try to become pals with someone famous?The Bible says that Jesus had all the power in the world.But he didn’t use his power to serve himself.In fact,right before he was betrayed and arrested,right before he was beaten and ridiculed,right before he had nails driven into his hands and feet,Jesus did something that you wouldn’t expect from the most powerful being on earth.John,in his eye-witness account,describes the moment like this:

Dear Jesus,I’m so thankful that it is you,and not someone else,who has all the power.Thank you for serving me,even though I should be the one serving you.Amen.
