永生之道

“西门·彼得 回答说：「主啊，你有永生之道，我们还归从谁呢？”

约翰福音 6:68

许多人离开教会，认为自己有这样的自由，可以做自己的选择 。他们觉得没有必要留下来，无论是出于什么原因。反正，他们就这么离开了。

当年，许多人也是那样，离开了耶稣。他们无法接受耶稣对他们生命的呼召，所以就离弃了耶稣。他们认为耶稣的要求太极端。一旦有些人开始离开，其他许多人也就随大流。这时候，耶稣问他最亲近的门徒：“你们也要去吗？” 彼得，那个脾气最急的门徒，回答主说，他实在不知道除了跟随耶稣，还能去哪里。 耶稣所发出的光芒实在让人难以抗拒，震撼世界，带来永恒的美善。

今日祷告：

亲爱的耶稣，求祢紧紧抓住我的心，不要放松。也抓紧我周围的人。让我成为改变这个世界的一份子，毫不动摇。阿们。

April 7 – Nowhere Else

Simon Peter replied, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words that give eternal life.”

Many people leave the church simply because they can, feeling like they have a choice in the matter. They don’t feel compelled to stay. For whatever reason, many just slip away through the crowd.

There was a time when many people left the crowd that was following Jesus too. They deserted him because they couldn’t stomach Jesus’ calling on their lives. What Jesus was asking them to do was too radical. And once a few people started wandering away, many others took the easy route too.

As a result of this, Jesus turned to his closest followers and asked, “Are you going to leave too?” That’s when Peter, the roller-coaster adrenaline disciple, declared that he couldn’t imagine anywhere else they would rather be. Jesus was too startlingly, too earth-shatteringly true, too eternally good.

Pray for the Day:

Dear Jesus, grab ahold of my heart and squeeze tight. Grab ahold of those around me too. Let me be a part of an unflinching movement of world changers. Amen.
