背起十字架

“他被藐视，被人厌弃；多受痛苦，常经忧患。他被藐视，好像被人掩面不看的一样；我们也不尊重他。”

以赛亚书53:3

设想一下耶稣受难现场。如果当时你就在现场的人群中间，你会做什么？你会朝他喊叫么？你会否认曾经亲眼目睹的神迹么？你会因为看到他背上的鞭痕而同情他、怜悯他么？当别人朝他吐口水的时候，你会大笑么？当他承受不了十字架的重担时，你会从人群中走出来帮扶他么？或者你可能根本不会参与其中的任何一件事；也许因为恐惧和悲伤，你已经逃离那个地方。

人们不敢或不愿诚实面对救主耶稣的受难，至今仍然不肯接受耶稣。然而，这也正是为什么耶稣要在众人之中，为我们背负十字架。

今日祷告：

主耶稣，你何以忍受这一切的痛苦？你何以饶恕原谅？你承受了所有的仇视、痛苦和弃绝。我惊叹于你如此的爱！奉主耶稣基督的圣名，阿们！

March 28-Turned Backs

He was despised and rejected—a man of sorrows,acquainted with deepest grief.

We turned our backs on him and looked the other way.He was despised,and we did not care.

If you had been in the crowd that day,what would you have done?Would you have yelled at him?Would you have denied the miracles your own eyes had seen him do?Would you have looked at the open slices across his back,and would you have patronized him or felt a ping of pity?When somebody spit on him,would you have laughed or would you have watched it unfold?When he collapsed under the weight of the cross,would you have stepped out of the crowd to help him lift it back up?Or perhaps you wouldn’t have participated in any of it at all.Maybe you would have fled town,overcome with fear and grief.Afraid or unwilling to honestly confront the rejection absorbed by the Savior,people still turn their backs on Jesus to this day.But,ironically,that’s why he carried the cross through the crowd.

Pray for the Day:

Lord Jesus,how did you put up with this?How did you forgive?You took the brunt of all hatred and agony and rejection.Your love overwhelms me.Amen.
