愚顽不灵

“愚顽人心里说：没有神。

诗篇14:1

四月一日是西方文化中的愚人节（傻瓜日）。我不知道它的起源是什么，但是这一天人们通常相互作弄，骗你相信一些不真实的事情。有人或许说，你家房子着火了！你赶紧跑回家看，发现是虚惊一场。这时候人家就笑你，愚人节傻瓜！让你觉得自己很傻，因为你居然会相信他们的恶作剧。

上帝不会恶作剧。他讲真理、不说谎言。因此，虽然人因为相信恶作剧而被看作愚蠢，但是上帝却称那些不信祂的人为愚顽人。在一种情况下，一个人如果相信那些不真实的假话，那他就是愚人；而在另一种情况下，一个人如果不承认上帝存在的充分证据，不承认上帝对我们的爱，不承认上帝对我们的盼望——就是借着耶稣基督来认识祂，也不承认上帝对我们一生的供应，那他就是个愚顽的人。

当一个人相信了愚人节的谎言，最多就是尴尬一下，很快就忘记了。但是一个人要是拒绝相信神对他说的话，他很快就会发现自己是多么的愚蠢。不幸的是，当他最后发现自己和其他的傻瓜都陷入地狱的时候，就为时已晚了。

我们仅此一生，却有很多机会去认识神。如果我们因为拒绝接受上帝向我们传达的真理而犯下永远的错误，那我们就是最大的傻瓜。

今日祷告：

天父，求祢向我们显明祢的真理，赐予我们智慧。求祢让我们有智慧，以顺服祢的方式而活；奉耶稣的名，阿们。

THE FOOL

The fool hath said in his heart,There is no God.Psalm 14:1

April first is April Fool’s Day.I’m not sure how this designation was made,but it is usually a time when people will play tricks on you or try to get you to believe in something that is not true.They might say,“Your house is on fire,”and when you run to look and find out that it is not,they will shout,“April Fool,”causing you to feel foolish that you believed their prank.

God is not like the practical joker.He tells the truth and He never lies.Therefore,while man looks foolish for believing a lie in the form of a practical joke,God calls a person who refuses to believe in Him a fool.In the one case,a person is a fool for believing something that is not true,that was made up.In the other case,a person is described as foolish who refuses to acknowledge God’s ample evidence for existing,for His love for us,for His desire that we might come to know Him through Jesus Christ,and for His provision for us throughout our lives.

When one believes the lie of an April Fool’s joke,he is momentarily embarrassed,but soon gets over it.When one refuses to believe what God has told him,he will soon enough find out how foolish he has been.Unfortunately,it will be too late,and he will find himself in hell in the company of other fools.

We receive only one life during which we have many chances to come to know God.We are the biggest fools of all if we make the eternal mistake of rejecting the truth that God has communicated to us.

Father,reveal Your truth to us.Give us wisdom.Give us wisdom to lead our lives in a way that is obedient to You;in Jesus’Name,Amen.
