哀恸的心

“哀恸的人有福了！因为他们必得安慰。”

马太福音5:4

一个人会哀恸，说明他是善良的。换句话说，那些没有爱心的人，也不会哀恸。而那些满有爱心的，愿意去感受他人痛失的苦楚。这个世界上有太多的伤痛。能避免痛苦当然很好，而有些人的唯一选择是让自己变得冷酷或者麻木。显然，这两种选择都不好。

耶稣了解这一点。圣经中有一句最短也是最重要的一句经文是这样写的：“耶稣哭了。”在葬礼上，耶稣为失去的朋友而悲伤，和她们一起哀恸，正因为他深爱这些人。祂本来不必在意。但是，他哭了，和她们一起哭了。他承受了她们的痛苦，抚慰她们的创伤，带来复活的生命。

今日祷告：

耶稣，求祢赐给我一颗足以哀恸的心，赐给我一个足以承受风险的灵魂。阿们。

January 30-Be Sad

“God blesses those who mourn,for they will be comforted.“

MAT T H EW 5:4

One of the signs of a good heart is a sad heart.In other words,those who don’t care don’t mourn.But those who care are willing to feel the pain of loss.There is a remarkable amount of hurt in this world.And while it would be great to avoid pain,the only alternatives are to become abusive or to become numb to it.And,lest you’re confused,neither of those are a good way to exist.

Jesus understands this.One of the shortest verses in the Bible,and one of the most significant,says this:“Jesus wept.”At a funeral,Jesus mourned the loss of his friend and he carried the heartache of the situation,precisely because he was willing to love deeply.He didn’t have to care.But he did.Jesus cries with his friends.He wears their burdens.He tends to their wounds.

And then he raises them to life once again.

Pray for the Day:

Jesus,give me a heart big enough to mourn and a soul big enough to take the risk.Amen.
