饥渴慕义

“饥渴慕义的人有福了！ 因为他们必得饱足。”

马太福音 5:6

主耶稣希望你在自己的社区中有所作为。做他的公义的见证。仅仅认为人们不该受到不公的待遇或者不应该受到压迫是不够的。祂实际是要你设法做些什么来帮助那些身处逆境中的人。

耶稣饥渴慕义。他痛恨人受蹂躏。他眼中容不得这个世界充满压迫和暴力。在那著名的惊世骇俗的登山宝训里，耶稣清楚地表明上帝重视人的生命，并希望人们为那些被践踏的生命而战。看到那些无辜的被冤枉，你不感到心碎么？看到那些言论自由被剥夺的，你不悲哀哭泣么？上帝是一定会的。

今日祷告：

主耶稣，不要让我满足于快餐式的人生。让我饥渴慕义，为你做工，完成你对这个世界的期望。奉主耶稣基督的圣名，阿们！

February 1 – Be Hungry

“God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied.”

MAT T H EW 5 : 6

Jesus wants you to make a difference in the community in which you live. It isn’t enough just to feel like people shouldn’t be treated unfairly, for instance, or to think that people shouldn’t be oppressed. He actually wants you to figure out something to do that will help these people and address the terrible situations they are in.

Jesus hungered and thirsted for justice. He hated it when people were pushed down or overrun. His vision for the world did not include oppression and violence. In one of the most famous and countercultural messages the world has ever heard, Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, he made it clear that God values human life, and he expects people to fight for those whose life is being stolen. Does your heart break over the wrongs that are committed against the innocent? Does your soul cry for those whose voice has been taken from them? God’s does.

Pray for the Day:

Lord Jesus, don’t let me settle for a fast-food life. Let me be hungry for the

nourishment and fulfillment that you have for this world. Amen.
