所望根基

“倚靠耶和华、以耶和华为可靠的，那人有福了！”

耶利米书17:7

教会最著名的赞美诗之一、由Edward Mote和William Bradbury共同创作的《坚固磐石歌》开头这样写道：“我心所望别无根基，只有救主流血公义；除此以外空虚无凭，只靠耶稣救主圣名。立在基督磐石坚固，其余根基全是沙土。”

你所望的根基是什么？你可能希望增加薪水、通过考试、赢得抽奖比赛？这些希望都建立在我们几乎无法掌控的外部环境中：老板的赏识、老师的问题、你的名字是否在千万人中被抽到。

但是，我们在基督里的盼望是完全有保障的。我们半点不用担心。基督已经复活，并为我们在天国预备住所。

我经常旅行住酒店，有时候我到达酒店的时候房间还没有收拾好，我只能等待。我控制不了。但是基督为我们预备的地方，在我们到达的时候已经好了。因为，在祂那里，没有什么不确定的事。他所应许的，定会实现。

“以雅各的神为帮助、仰望耶和华—他神的，这人便为有福！”（诗篇146:5）

今日祷告：

天父，我的希望在于你。我的希望在于耶稣基督，祂是坚固磐石，永不摇动，因为你已成就了大功。感谢主，奉耶稣的名祷告，阿们。

MY HOPE IS BUILT ON NOTHING LESS

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord,and whose hope the Lord is.Jeremiah 17:7

One of the great hymns of the church,“The Solid Rock,”by Edward Mote and William Bradbury,begins,“My hope is built on nothing less,than Jesus’blood and righteousness;I dare not trust the sweetest frame,but wholly lean on Jesus’name.On Christ,the solid Rock,I stand;all other ground is sinking sand.”

What is your hope built on?You may hope for a raise in pay at work.You may hope that you pass an exam at school.You may even hope that you win a contest you have entered.Such hopes are based on externals over which we have little control:a favorable view of our work by the boss,the“right”questions being asked by the professor,our name being drawn among thousands of entries.

But the hope we have in Christ is an absolute certainty.It leaves nothing to chance.It is based on the fact of Christ’s resurrection and the fact that He has gone ahead of us to get our dwelling place in readiness for our arrival.

In my travels I have stayed at many hotels around the world.Sometimes when I arrive early,the chambermaids have not had time to clean my room and make the beds,so I must wait.I may hope that the room is ready when I arrive at the hotel,but I have no control over it.

We can be sure that the place Christ is preparing for us will be ready when we arrive because with Him nothing is left to chance.Everything He promised He will deliver,just as He said.

“Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help,whose hope is in the Lord”(Psalm 146:5).

Father,my hope is in You.My hope is in Jesus,the solid Rock,who cannot fail because Your work is finished.Thank You,Lord;in Jesus’Name,Amen.
