客西马尼园的祷告

「父啊！你若愿意，就把这杯撤去；然而，不要成就我的意思，只要成就你的意思。」

路加福音22:42

在犹大出卖耶稣之后、士兵来抓捕耶稣之前，耶稣带着门徒上了橄榄山，来到客西马尼园。祂告戒门徒远离诱惑和罪恶。可惜他们疲惫不堪、软弱无力，都纷纷睡去。耶稣走到一箭之遥的地方，独自屈膝祷告。

人类最早的堕落是在一个花园里（伊甸园），耶稣的纠结也是在一个花园里。耶稣的祷告内心充满激烈的挣扎。罪不会轻易死去。耶稣如此恳切祈求，灵里极为痛苦，以至于汗珠如大血点滴在地上。这种情形，医学上称为“血汗症”，当人经历极大压力时才会发生。当门徒们都在沉睡的时候，只有耶稣还在警醒祷告。祂承担了门徒们不愿意、也没有能力做的事。

今日祷告：

亲爱的耶稣，我能说什么呢？我何其软弱，祢却为我争战。谢谢你为我做的一切。奉主耶稣基督的圣名，阿们！

March 24-The Garden

Father,if you are willing,please take this cup of suffering away from me.Yet I want your will to be done,not mine.

After Judas had betrayed Jesus,and just before soldiers came to arrest him,Jesus and his disciples went to the Mount of Olives,to the garden of Gethsemane.He warned his disciples to avoid temptation and sin,but in their emotionally exhausted condition they chose instead to sleep.But Jesus walked“about a stone’s throw away,”knelt down,and prayed.It was in a garden that humans first tasted sin;it was in a garden that Jesus wrestled with it.

His time of prayer was intense.Sin was not going to die easily.Jesus prayed so fervently,with such agony of spirit,that his sweat became mixed with great drops of blood.This condition is known as hematidrosis,which occurs when someone is experiencing extreme stress.While the disciples slept through it,Jesus took it upon himself to do the very thing the disciples were unwilling or unable to do.

Dear Jesus,what can I say?You wrestled against what I have so easily been beaten by.Thank you for what you have done.Amen.
