 属灵训练

 “你们存心不可贪爱钱财，要以自己所有的为足；因为主曾说：「我总不撇下你，也不丢弃你。」所以我们可以放胆说：主是帮助我的，我必不惧怕；人能把我怎么样呢？”

希伯来书13:5-6

 多年前，我小儿子内德转到一个新的学校，在那里他遇到一些调皮的孩子。他们打架斗殴，习以为常，内德却没有什么经验。很快他们就来欺负他。内德必须学会保护自己。

 上帝也想教我们如何保护自己，让我们靠他得到成全。在圣经里，上帝对我们进行属灵的训练。我们通过不断训练，固本强身，约束自己，增强灵命。当然，属灵操练和体育锻炼一样，必须持之以恒，而且要勤于将真理运用在生活里。

 上帝没有承诺我们不遇见凶恶，但是他应许在凶恶中保护我们。没有什么可以隔绝我们和上帝的关系。我们所遇见的凶恶，恰恰也是锻炼自己的机会，为将来的争战做更好的预备。

 记住，上帝永远不会丢弃你。

 今日祷告：

 天父啊，你曾应许，你永远不会离弃我们。你爱我们，看顾我们，你保护我们免受恶者的伤害。耶和华啊，求你使我们脱离罪恶，脱离那些缠绕我们、使我们远离你的事；求你引导我们与你亲近。祷告奉耶稣基督的名，阿门。

THE ULTIMATE PROTECTION

For he has said,“I will never fail you nor forsake.”Hence we can confidently say,“The Lord is my helper,I will not be afraid.”Hebrews 13:5-6,RSV

Some years ago when our son Ned entered a new school,he met some boys from the city who thought they were pretty tough.Ned had never had to confront boys from the streets who had much experience in having to defend themselves and who witnessed fights as a regular occurrence.The boys from the city soon began picking on him.

God wants to teach us how to defend our weakest points because Satan wants to defeat us so that we will not be effective for God.

In the Bible God offers us some spiritual“training”which builds us up inside in much the same way as physical exercise and discipline can build us up on the outside.But,like discipline can build us up on the outside,spiritual discipline can build us inside.Like exercise or training in martial arts,we must be consistent in our reading of Scripture and diligent in its application to the situations and circumstances around us.God has not promised to shield us from trouble,but He has promised to protect us in the midst of trouble.

Nothing can touch us apart from God’s will.If something does touch us,we can be sure that it is for the purpose of building us up into a stronger and more effective witness so that God can use us to do battle with the evil bully of history,the devil.

Remember,God will never fail you or forsake you!

Pray for the Day:

Father,You promised that You will never leave us nor forsake us.You love us,and You look out for us,and You protect us from the evil one.Keep us,O Lord,clear from sin,free from the things that would entangle us and take us far from You,and lead us close to You;in Jesus’Name,Amen.
